Delegation, Coaching and Employee Engagement: The Winning Combination

Overview
Delegation is one of the hardest skills for many managers to master. Handing off your individual contributor responsibilities and providing others an opportunity to use their skills and knowledge is a manager’s role. This workshop focuses on specific techniques needed for delegating a task or project, coaching for success and engaging employees to put forth maximum "discretionary effort."

Course highlights:

  • Exercises using "actuals" and case studies
  • Participants choose a real task to delegate to a real employee and complete a readiness assessment with a skill/will checklist
  • Introduce a situational leadership matrix with four style choices affecting delegation (flexibility and effectiveness)
  • Practice delegation strategies
  • Use a diagnostic tool to target each manager's approach to the employee they choose to coach, as well as troubleshooting problem situations as a team.
  • Both sections will be highly interactive throughout and can be tailored to be address client-specific issues
