This workshop provides a step-by-step process for designing and writing a clear engineering document, e-mail message, or report. You will learn by doing, the only legitimate way to improve writing skills! The training involves writing, revising, and editing exercises; critiquing documents; games; and lecture. You will walk away with confidence in writing and editing skills and with a consciousness about international writing.
Pre-Course Work: Each student will submit a writing sample in advance of the course. The instructor will critique these pieces before the class, which not only provides feedback to each student, but provides the instructor with insight on how to best tailor the presentation to make it as relevant as possible to the specific needs of the group.

The e-mail communications of the person we sent to this course have improved dramatically! Clearly, he now considers (BEFORE writing) his audience and what would be important for THEM to know, so his communications are more concise and useful to all of us.
