Delegation is one of the hardest skills for many managers to master.  Handing off your individual contributor responsibilities and providing others an opportunity to use their skills and knowledge is a manager’s role.  This course focuses on specific techniques needed for delegating a task or project, coaching for success and engaging employees to put forth maximum “discretionary effort.”

  • Exercises using “actuals” and case studies
  • Participants choose a real task to delegate to a real employee and complete a readiness assessment with a skill or will checklist
  • Introduce the situational leadership grid with four style choices affecting delegation
  • Practice delegation strategies
  • Use a diagnostic tool to target each manager’s approach to the employee they choose to coach as well as troubleshooting problem situations as a team
  • Both sections will be highly interactive throughout and can be tailored to address client-specific issues
