Managing High-Performance Remote Teams

Length
2 hours

Intended Audience

Leaders of geographically distributed remote teams

Overview

The manager of a remote team must perform all the duties that great managers have always done. However, a remote manager must perform these activities in new ways as a result of forces that continually spin a remote team apart, including time zone differences, local pressure on priorities, cultural diversity, and a lack of face-to-face interaction. An effective remote manager must become the “glue” that holds the team together. Participants learn tips and techniques for managing communication, the business context, task performance, and interpersonal relationships, all of which enhance team performance in a remote environment.
